$45 per visit, no appointment necessary. I think it is absolutely GREAT. What do YOU think? I can go on and on why it is so good. I have docs in the family and still think it is so very great. Apparently it is available at some Targets, Krogers and other places. The goverment and insurance companies must be hating this one.

No actually the insurance companies are going to love it. The current situation is that Docs are swamped and can hardly fit someone in for an emergency appointment due to a bad cold etc. So the patient goes to the local Emergency Room where they wait for hours to get some small amount of care. If your are finally seen you pay a $50 copay and deal with a physician (or even a Nurse Practitioner) who wants to save some one who is dying and desparately needs his expertise. He is not looking forward to treating your bad cold. These in-house clinics are manned by Nurse Practitioners (NP) who are Nurses with a Master's degree in a specialty such as Adult care etc. and frequently years of experience. They are not physicians, and they will be the first one to tell you if they are not familiar with your problem, and they will direct you to the appropriate MD if needed. There were 47 studies done over the course of about 20 years to discover if an NP could truly be a primary care provider. 41 said a resounding YES. Then in January of 2000 the American Medical Association (AMA) published an extensive report of a significant research project that was designed to show that the NP was NOT functional. The AMA study again showed that the NP concept was sound, and they almost did not publish it because of those unexpected findings, but the cat was out of the bag so to speak and they did publish it. NP usually has a good "Bedside Manner," and most truly enjoy teaching you about your condition as well as treating you for it. Try them, I think you will like what you get for your $45. I think it is a wave of the future as Emergency Rooms are almost at crisis conditions trying to handle the influx of HMO patients who can not get in to see their overwhelmed assigned Primary Care MD in a reasonable time period. Thanks for the opportunity to discuss this new trend in primary care medicine.

Sounds good to me. There was just something on the TV about the RediClinic at Wal-Mart.

Have a great day!
