sign up for a broadcasting class. Some high schools offer them, but some don't. You can always transfer.

I suppose that would depend on what your school has to offer. Drama classes would be important, drama club, if you have a film class or club. Outside of school, you could look into community theatre groups. It depends on what you want to do in film school: set design, costuming, acting, etc. Set design, take wood shop; costuming, take sewing or home ec.; acting, we're back to drama again. I hope this helps!

Make short films. Create storyboards. Write a screenplay or play. When I applied to film school the application required me to send in my films, portfolios, et cetera. I had NONE of that. I applied to New York University to major in film and was shocked and mad, so it is good you're asking so soon. Send away for some applications so you can get a head start on what's required so you can COMPETE with other, possibly better prepared applicants and students.
Peace.

The number one thing is to make the best grades that you can, in every subject. Take drama classes would also help. Good Luck.
Have a great day!
