No you can definitely produce a child while you are taking a medicine for epilepsy. The only thing that is feared is the side effect it may have on the baby while it is still developing in the womb. Multiple side effects are known and have been described. Therefore, a person with epilepsy will not like to have her baby born with any defect or side effect of the medicines that she has to take for controlling the epilepsy. Usually a three year’s course is provided, and waiting for this period to go would be a better idea. Moreover, what if epilepsy occurs during a pregnancy, or during the time of delivery? In that case it will be risky for both the mother as well as her child in her womb.
