i have the same problem only mine is because i have bad circulation every where so my feet are also always cold. my doctor just says to wear socks and sweaters and that is all you can do. also drink hot water (it will warm you in the winter and keep your hands closed and everyone has to drink water)

My doctor told me that my thyroid was low (after a blood test) and hypothyroidism was why my hands were always cold. Everyone always told me "cold hands, warm heart". My doctor asked me "why I didn't tell him sooner?" after I was hospitalized for a simple skin infection that I couldn't overcome because the low thyroid had an effect on my immune system. It used to take 1-2 weeks for a scratch to heal, now it only takes 3-5 days. They give synthetic thyroid or animal thyroid (pig) suppliments and take blood tests to monitor the levels carefully. Taking too much can cause you to loose bone density and other bad things. It scares me that they sell thyroid in health food stores.

Other symptoms can include:
Coarse and thinning hair.
Brittle nails.
Dry skin.
A yellowish tint to the skin.
Slow body movements and speech.
Inability to tolerate cold.
Feeling tired, sluggish, or weak.
Memory problems, depression, or difficulty concentrating.
Constipation.
Heavy or irregular menstrual periods that may last longer than 5 to 7 days.

If you are stressed yes. This is a stress reaction. If you are overweight like pre-diabetes overweight you may be having cirrculation problems and should see a doc. try relaxing and see if that makes em warm.
