To the left of the screen it says Hello : Petie B, Next line says Points: 187 and the third line says Level: 1. Well if you click on your points, Yahoo will take you to a page that explains how the point system works. Also you are in Level 1 so won't accumulate thumbs up points. Cheers.

You should get 2 points for answering a question and 10 points if you are selected for best answer. You get 1 point for rating someone else answer and 1 point for signing in each day. You get 5 points deducted for asking a question. If you are not you need to contact yahoo answers. Look under help.

Be one of the first people to answer the question. Be precise in your answer. Cite sources if you are providing information from a website resource. Provide information in the source field so people understand where you are coming from when answering yuor questions.

Its not Yahoo that selects the best answers....
It the questioner and if satisfied with your answer as being the best,then they select it and you get 10 points.So try and answer questions to your best.
