I'm very sorry that your Mom passed away. Honestly I think three years is longer than usually expected with stage 4....when my mom was diagnosed with it they said they expected her to live for about 2 more years. She only made it six months :'-(

I wish it could've been longer too.
My mother in law went thru 2 bouts of breast cancer (one for each side) before being diagnosed as stage IV this time. That was 18 months ago, about 17 months more than her doctor told her that she had.

not really. I am sorry but there still is a little time to make the most of what time is left. and the bottom line is you really never know. I have seen people break the odds. It really depends on the treatment and the general state of your mother at the time she got sick. I am a cancer nurse and it can be very hard at times. I hope you have a good support system to help you accept what has happened. I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. My friend had stage IV cancer. She found out in January and died in May. It was way too soon. She was only 45 yrs old. It was a shock but at least you have thoes memories that will last a lifetime.

Sorry about your loss. Yes it is. My step-mother had stage 4 and she lived about 9 months I believe. Your mother was definitely a fighter.
