Take him to the vet, his previous health doesn't matter. It could just be an ulcer (scratch) that has gone too long, or infected. There's no way of you knowing for sure. There's nothing that you could do at home!! I'm sure he's in pain, especially if he won't let you near it. They'll take a look at him, and if it's nothing TOO serious give you some medication. But you never will know what it is if you don't take him, and it could be something worse, or just get worse.

I wouldn't bother with trying a home remedy and get him in for a look at the vet ASAP. My mom had a Shitzu that had an eye like that and the vet thought she had maybe rubbed it across the carpet in an attempt to "scratch" an itch and puntured it. They had her eye removed, but the infection had spread too fast and ultimately she had to be put down at the age of 6 yrs old.
Please see the vet right away about this as it could become very serious.

It sounds like a bad case of pink eye to me. Since he is so young, it was probably caused by something that got into his eye like shampoo.
That is what happened to my dog one time. I called the vet and she said to squirt saline solution into his eyes 4 times a day and if it didn't clear up within 3 days to take him in. It cleared up within 2 days. Now I restrain my dog when I give him a bath so he doesn't shake and get shampoo in his eye.
But since I can't see your dog I can't tell for sure what it is. Take him to the vet just in case.

OK, my dog has had the same problem before. For her its allergies. She got an eye infection from them. What I did was I got some saline solution and rinsed her eye out a few times a day. He won't like it at all and will most likely fight you, but its neccesarry. If you have to, get someone to help hold him, while you gently spread his eyelids apart and rinse. Remember, you're not putting eyedrops in, you're rinsing his eye out, so don't be skimpy.
This will help his eye heal on its own. If its not starting to get better after a week of this, take him to the vet, cause that means its pretty bad.
Best wishes!

if you really are concerned take him to vet and tell vet you don't have a lot of money and ask if you can work out a deal with him. vets have been know to take in trade for services like cleaning and other things. if one vet doesn't want to deal find another and another but get help for your dog he can't do it and it is your resposiblity. the cost might not be so high so ask about that too and start a savings plan for your dog's medical bills or get pet insurance. also just plain on go out there and ask for help. ask humainssociety for help and offer to work for them in trade but get out there and do something. ask your self this if your in pain wut do you do let someone poke you where it hurts when you can't talk to them to understand wut is going on??

your puppy porbably just has an eye infection, or may even be allergic to something that you fed him. I would take him to a vet and see what he thinks but it shouldnt be that serious
