I just made an appointment for tomorrow to have the dentist pull my upper left molar tooth..Tooth number #15, I believe. It is in such bad shape, that they want to pull it. I have had 4 diff. teeth pulled at the oral surgeon, but they put me under..I had another tooth pulled when they couldn't perform a root canel because I couldn't keep my mouth open wide or long enough so they just pulled it..That didn't hurt..However, I have never had a molar tooth pulled...Does it hurt at all? I'm kinda nervous

Uh, they prescibe Ty 3 for a reason. The actual process isn't THAT bad (the needle is the big thing) but the aftermath.....

At least it's an upper one, so it doesn't collect food and develop dry socket.

If it is #15, that is a wisdom tooth. Since it is in bad shape, it could cause more problems being left in then taking it out. The dentist should numb the area and the only thing you will feel is pressure as they "work" the tooth out. If you have problems staying open, they may have a splint for you to bite on which would keep your mouth open. It should not hurt, but just a little pressure and they'll give you prescriptions after your appointment for any discomfort you may have. Hope this helps!

If it's #15, that's not your wisdom tooth (toof #16 is). #15 is your 2nd molar which is just a bit smaller than #14, your first molar. Without an xray, it's hard to tell how difficult it will be. There are a lot of variables. But, with good local anesthetic delivery, you should ONLY feel pressure and a maybe some psychological discomfort. Good Luck!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. I was able to eat soft liquid-like foods (jello, pudding, yogurt, soup) the same day and was able to eat toast within two days...it didn't hurt very much, I only took one or two ty-3 a day. I think the worst part of the whole thing was having the novicaine wear off. My lips hurt when the feeling started coming back...I pretty much just slept until that went away...12 hours or so. If you've had teeth pulled before, I wouldn't worry. Nothing you can't survive through. I went back to work the next day (it was hard to talk though).

It shouldn't hurt at all. I have a molar worked on, they even packed my roots which usually hurts and I didn't feel a thing. It took the 45 min to fix mine. Yours shouldn't take a few minutes to pull and should definately not hurt. If it hurts....I suggest finding another dentist
