God never said He hated any body. He hates sin. And homosexuality is sin, and abomination as a matter of fact. People may have a tendency towards it but only because it is the sins of their fathers from past generations. Their father's fathers and so on had this sin somewhere in their families (not necessarily the father but maybe in the family) and it was handed down because of unrepentance. The curse can be stopped when a believer who realizes their past father's sins, takes a stand against it in prayer. But regardless, it doesn't mean one doesn't have a choice. Sin is a choice. People are born with a bent towards certain sins because of our ancestors activities. It doesn't mean we have no power over it. Through Christ we are set free from the bondage of sin.

Well, we're all born that way, we are all born with a sinful nature. Everyone has the capacity to be a homosexual as well as a liar, thief, adultery, murderer, blasphemer, etc.. However, although sin is natural for unbelievers, that doesn’t mean God wants them to remain that way. God can set them free from their sinful nature (Romans 7:23–8:2), give them new desires (Ephesians 4:22–24), and help them withstand temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13)

There is no "gay" gene, but I also favor nurture over nature. Elton John is the way he is as a result of decisions he has made through out his life, as are all who end up in the same place.

I don't remember God saying that he didn't like gay people. When and where did God said that? Did God tell you that he created Elton that way? Did Elton tell you that? God loves and gave his only begotten son for everyone....including gay people.

First of all, God does LIKE gay people, in fact HE LOVES THEM. He does however, hate the sins any of us commit. "God demonstrates His love for us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Now on to your question:
Why is a chronic liar born with an incredible urge to lie?
Why is a klepto born with an incredible urge to steal?
Sin is sin and it entered in to the human race and we have been made corrupt. But with all temptations God is faithful to not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able and has provided a way of escape from that temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13
This means that every time a person has an overwhelming urge to sin at any level, whether it be getting angry, or stealing or lying or having a homosexual relationship, we should do everything in our ability to avoid commiting that sin.

As a Christian my views on that subject are a little different than most Christians who will answer. I feel that God places within each of us "triggers" if you will - things that will tempt us - to allow us to overcome them and choose Him. Stay with me now. For some people I feel that God allows them to have addictive "triggers" perhaps for alcohol or drugs. That is their obstacle to overcome. For others it is the love of money. For some a lustful nature - for the opposite sex OR the same sex. The Bible says we are all born in sin. The sin that is tempting to you may not interest me at all. Whatever we are "born with" or is placed in our genetic makeup are weaknesses that can only be overcome through the forgiveness of that sin through Christ Jesus.
Homosexuality is merely one of thousands of temptations that must be overcome and forgiven by the grace & mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.
btw, God loves ALL people. John 3:16 "For God so LOVED the world that He gave his only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
He loves the person. He hates the sin.

Why wouldn't god love gay people, if there weren't gay people, no one would decorate my apartment, and it would look hideous.
Are you people really that ignorant? Did you sit their and choose to be straight? Did you really think to yourself...."hmm.....I feel slightly attracted to the same sex, but I choose to be more attracted to the opposite sex. Yes, yes....I'm going to go with that." Unless you actually did that, you don't know SHI* about choosing, and you shouldn't preach about something you have no experience in. You were straight because it came naturally to you - just like it comes naturally to gay people to be gay.

God loves all of his children, even when we break rules. Just like a father or mother who has a child that heads in the wrong direction, we don't stop loving that child - even when we are disappointed.

Ooooh, but, they say, they're not really born that way; they all have a choice and they *choose* to live like that...
Their dogma really makes me gag, actually. How the hell are they so sure about that, I'd like to know? Suppose that the bible said it was a sin to like to eat olives. Perhaps you, personally, don't care for olives, but you see all these *other* people who simply love olives and can't get enough of them and you say, Well, I don't like olives so therefore it isn't natural for people to like olives; you people must be *choosing* to like olives! Repent now or burn in eternal hellfire!
Makes me gag...
