The best reaction is to stay calm and confront them immediately. Tell them they're lying and tell them why. Let everyone around you know that they are a liar. Have nothing more to do with this person.

Say "I know the truth and God knows the truth - and that's all that matters". Your true friends and parents who really know you and believe in you will know the truth.Some of the others (troublemakers) like to tear you down in order to build themselves up. They are probably doing it for attention. Other people will get tired of listening to her lies. Give it time.

No reaction is needed. Observe the person and realize that they are showing you who they are. Whatever they are saying is inside of them. Once you see them, you won't have any other expectation of them and it won't upset you so much.
