Usually when I need to sort out my feelings I write them out and try to view them from an objective point of view.
I write the things I like, the things I don't like, sometimes I even give weight to certain aspects.
Most often I find that when I have to sort my feelings for someone in my life that I think is a great person I usually find that the person is great and I am feeling guilty because I don't have THE feelings for them.
But I believe that it is good to walk through those feelings because you grow as a person. It is also good when those feelings are written down because down the road you can read how you felt and how those decisions impacted your life. You can confidence in your thought process regarding feelings. Feelings do change but your thought process can become very consistent and regulated not just by feelings.
Good Luck

As simple as it may seem, just make a list of the pros and cons of a certain situation, or just the two sides. Also, it might help to look at it objectively as if it weren't you experiencing the feelings and if you were just giving advice to a friend who's in the same position. Don't do anything you wouldn't advise your best friend to do in the same circumstances...I also find that I listen to my instincts and intuition too little and it always serves to get me into trouble or hinder what I really want or knew I would need, so always try to identify that type of internal and indirect advice. I know what you are feeling though...this summer I had been (and still am in) this exact position. And, however difficult it is to accept or admit, sometimes you just won't or even CAN'T know for sure...and acceptance of this will make things much easier if you are unable to identify your true feelings in the end. Hope it all works out for you, of course!

Well, writing down how you think you feel can help. Do you like him in a boyfriend /girlfriend way? Do you want to kiss him, etc. Kinda do a pro's and con's sort of thing. Can you deal with what the consequences of you liking him and going for it, or not liking him and leaving things the way that they are? Is he really better as a friend than as a boyfriend - do you know any girls that have been his girlfirend, and are not still pining over him? They may give some insight on whether you want to go for it.

I sort them according to age. It is also effective to sort them alphabetically.
Seriously, stop being so serious. Just live your life, try to have fun, be a good person and see what happens. The answers should become clear on their own without you having to do anything other than the above.

There's no easy way to do it, especiallly not if you're torn between what your family wants (which might not be right) and what you want.
