Thanks for the reminder... Some people forget that America was once called a melting pot of cultural diversity... I almost forgot considering some of the things I see people saying on here...
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! <3!!!
to some lady down there:
I thought "ROAM" fell because the romans became too obsessed with themselves and became complacent, decadent, and greedy. sounds like a PRETTY good reason not to do as the Romans did... what a bummer that really brings me down.

I agree; however I can understand why some people might be ethnocentric... considering that where I live another culture is forcing itself on the established one at the expense of the citizens living here. I love learning about different traditions, cuisines, religions, arts; the whole shebang. The line is crossed when my own is ridiculed as 'ignorant and arrogant' and I'm told I should learn a language that is not my native tongue (and I don't possess the 'left brain' tendancies that allow one to pick up mathematics, languages, and the like as fluently as others do) and treated rudely in my own birthplace, like *I'm* the alien. So tell us, what are you *really* trying to say with your question, because anyone and everyone will agree with your blanket statement thinly guised as an inquiry.

Yes, we need learn from other cultures and understand them the reason we get into wars is from not understanding the other cultures. Americans don't go other countries like Europeans, but that said America is 3000 long east to west. In Europe from the shore to France would be on the border of Russia and Poland at that distance or even into Russia. Europeans historically had to deal with contact with other cultures than the western hemisphere because its Anglo and Latino Culture, and French culture in Quebec mainly that is dominant.

If you want to learn the true Culture of different Nations, I suggest you travel there; because all Nationalities adopt alot about the American way of life in their every day living. I know, because I came from a different country many years ago.

With modern communication, including the internet, most information that can improve people's lives has already been communicated.
The benefits of actually living next door to a Mexican in a world where Mexican culture is available remotely are marginal at best.
I'm sure that most Asians and Africans are happy that they can watch the Simpsons and drink Coca-Cola without having to live next door to one of us.

Yes, all the cultures should be respected so that we can learn from each other, as opposed to speaking English...

Multiculturalism destroyed Rome, and it will destroy us also, because the immigrants that are coming now do not want to assimilate, and the same thing happened in Roam, no body wanted to do as the Romans do, and it brought them down. That is what actually destroyed Rome. And eventually it will be us to, we will become the tower of Babel.

Yes, I've learned how easy it is for people to sneak into this country, steal health care, create gangs, and make neighborhoods trashy. That's what I've learned from other cultures.
