"Whosoever believes in me shall not perish, but has everlasting life". (from John 3:16)

This is the gospel or "good news" that many do not understand and because they do not study the Bible and do not understand this truth, they do not accept it. It is the most important of Christ's statements and teachings.

They ask, "How can this be"? and they trot out the even older question, "How can a loving God condemn good people just because they don't believe in Jesus Christ"? These answers are easy for any Christian, proficient in their faith, to answer. The whole story, the entire purpose, the ageless truth is in the Bible. This entire book leads to one purpose and that purpose is Jesus Christ.

The most important teaching is his gospel (Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection) He had to die on the cross for our sins to correct what happened in the garden of Eden w/ Adam. When Adam eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin was brought into the world and the only way we could repent of our sins at that time was through the sacrifacing of the animals. God came to earth in the flesh as Jesus to restore the bond between man and God by dying on the cross for our sins and because of his death, burial and resurrection, he can go into the presence of God again once we have repented of our sins and ask Jesus to come into our heart to save us. The shedding of his blood is what saved us from sin and also once we sincerly give our lives to Jesus we have eternal life.

When he was asked as to the greatest commandment . His reply was that to love god with all your heart , soul and might....and he further added that the second greatest is to love your neighbour as yourself... I believe everything in the bible as taught by Jesus are important but this mentioned above, if followed by the human race ,will result in the complete disappearance of sin... look at the conditions of this world.. very pathetic.. the relationship within families , nations and between nations and peoples... LOVE to GOD and MAN is waxed cold... that is why Jesus will have to return to RESTORE the lost relationship to those who believe and follow him...May God Bless you

All of Matthew chapter 7. The other answers given are mostly taken from there....things like: "Stop judging that you may not be judged", "Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine", "All things therefore that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them", "Be on the watch for false prophets that come to you in sheeps covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will recognize them", I mean this chapter goes on and on with great advice for genuine lovers of Christ.....

Love, peace and fellowship with your fellow man. Regardless of status in life, or differences. He healed lepers, consorted with hoes, and turned out wedding parties. He healed the sick and performed miracles. He should have stuck around a little longer to school Mohammad. Maybe these jokers wouldn't be tripping right now.

Judge not, turn the other cheek, love your enemy's, love your neighbor as your self.

These were intended to be taught as a coherent thought system but they were scrambled when the gospels were written and are not seen that way.

All of his teachings were important, but the one that sticks with me is to forgive...I have found that when I forgive I am released of the power that person..or the thing that they did had on me.
