Just get money back into your account ASAP; some banks charge fees, for being overdrawn. For future reference also -- sometimes grocery stores or other vendors will accept your card, even if it's overdrawn -- you won't get an alert -- because the bank will honor the debt, and then charge you if it's overdrawn!

Do also call your bank, and if you've had very few overdrafts, they may waive the fee, if you stress that it was an emergency.

The only account that wont let you go overdrawn is a solo account. Any other kind of debit card will let you go into an overdraft with its arranged or not. Its not that banks fault as it is printed in HSBCs banking terms and conditions. The best thing you can do especially if youve got money coming out of you account and youve not got work is arrange an overdraft. I think you do have to pay an arrangement fee of £25 but it means if you do go over you dont end up with whopping great charges,

Put money in the bank ASAP. Most banks now allow you one free overdraft charge per year, but it not, that mistake will cost you about 30 bucks. Other then the fact that it sucks, don't sweat it too much. You'll be ok :)

Take it easy, just go and deposit and extra 22 dollars in your checking accont plus the 18 dollars and it will be fine. Try not to do it offen, it cost to much and can effect your credit.

it's the same as writing a bad check.
get the money in the bank.
if the charge cleared, you may have a fee similar to a bounced check service fee.

if you have overdraft protection then you're good, you'll just have to pay them back. if your overdrawn $18, be prepared. my bank charges another $25 fee for overdrawing. sucks.
