I have seen the 300k camera, and really it's worse than a toy. You are looking at resolution so low that your photos would be next to useless, and very tiny. At least with the 1.3MP, you'd at least be able to print a 4x6 photo from it, theoretically. However, the reviews say differently. Apparantly, it's rated more as for webcam use only. Quality wise, you would probably be better off looking for a used one on Ebay..you'd be surprised what you can get for about $20.00.

I got a Kodak Easy Share C315 for only $90 on the day after Thanksgiving. It is 5MP so it takes pretty good pictures. It is a cheap camera and it works very well. It is very easy to work and I think it is a great buy. It also takes videos.

Fisher Price makes a kid's camera for about $50. I saw it in WalMart. It is good for kids because it has a binocular viewfinder.

I'm sorry, but I have no experience with the cameras you mentioned.

I got a 5 meg. vivitar & video cam at Wal-Mart for $88. There are numberless cameras out there at good prices..Search Wal Mart, K mart, overstock.com. bestbuy.com, just google digital cameras..at least get one he can use for a few years, teach him to take care of it.

also the best batteries to use are the Energizer E2
