I was just thinking dose yoga really help you get in shape. Or is pilates better or oth of them together.Thanks

They're both excellent exercises. What you DO need to know though, is that yoga will make your muscles more lean, and you will become flexible with regular practice of a multitude of asanas (poses).

Pilates, in my point of view, is just a more rigorous version of yoga, with less stretching, and more muscle building. So with Pilates you become much more toned, and this is excellent.

Yoga is more relaxing, but is still effective, and pilates is more of a "workout". Make sure you're warm enough when practising either though, because it is painful to stretch tight muscles (muscles tighten when they're cold).

Yoga is good for stretching, but I think pilates work better to get in shape.

Pilates is more noted for body shaping. As for yoga, it depends on what types of yoga. But it gives you a peaceful state of mind that is priceless.

As for doing both, I think Jennifer Aniston does both. But she tried Pilates first and her body shape is amazing!
