Ok On August 31 I Had Protected Sex And Now Its October 16 its been a month and 2 weeks since. Like 2 weeks after having sex i started to have this umcomfortness in my penis and it lasted for like a week and a half but now its gone. And like last week my pelvic and neck was sore my pelvic is not sore anymore but my neck is and under my jaw is i beleive these are lymph nodes but they arent swollen could they just be sore? I went to the doctor and he told me to do a urine test and i got the results back today and everything is normal. however im still scared about having hiv because a urine test doesnt test for hiv but if i did have it could they sort of tell alittle from the urine sample. My neck is still sore and under my jaw and throat and i have alittle cold in my throat could this just be a cold coming on or a the flu because its kinda cold in chicago. or may it be hiv or not.

Could Lymh Nodes Be Sore And Not Swollen?

More then likely you have caught a cold. If you know this person find out if they have a cold as well. If you dont, I can see why your scared. I truly dont think its HIV. Eat your chicken noodle soup, try to stay warm, get some rest. If you still arent better in another week or so call your doctor again. I would relax though, and just get some (more then likely) over due R-N-R

I would think that you are having two unrelated sets of symptoms. The uncomfortable feeling in your penis could have been an allergic reaction from the condom, you may have a latex allergy. The other symptoms sound like a cold or the flu, the flu can cause aches and pains in various parts of the body and your glandular system for weeks and weeks. You may need to request further tests and a blood test for sure in order to find out what is wrong. Thank you for being smart and educated enough to have protected sex, that is always the best choice. If it turns out that you had an allergic reaction to the condom, there are other non latex choices out there. Best of luck, and I hope you feel better soon!

Yes Lymh Nodes can be sore and not swollen, but they usually come together. An HIV test isnt that big of a deal. you should have just done it with the general STD test. Im actually surprised your doctor didnt take blood. Go back and get it done. Trust me you will feel better. I am sure everything is fine, so dont stress out to much. good luck!

An HIV test can take up to 7 years to get a result so keep checking for the next 7 years... (I had an instructor for nursing that got picked by a needle and had to do this that is how i know it takes 7 years) But I don't believe that symptoms occure that quickly... and if they did, the test would have come back positive. Just ask your doc if he did an HIV test and if not ask for one to be safe.... But if it's nothing else that is good. But I honestly don't believe that HIV symptoms come on that quick.

Urine tests do not detect std's correctly. You need to have your penis swabbed and sent to the lab. I don't believe you have HIV,you would not see signs like that this soon. You can have sore lymphnodes that aren't swollen. It sounds to me like you have some type of infection because of your symptoms. It could be a flu,i have had similiar symptoms with a flu virus. I'm sure thats what it is. Please if you are not better in 2 weeks,or if you have burning sensation when you pee then go back to the clinic.Watch for any discharge that is not normal for you.

Hey,

There is a websited called WebMd where you can enter your syptoms and it gives you possible disease you might have. Also you get tested 6 weeks after your last sexual encounter because if you test before that there is a posiblility that the blood test will not show up if you have it or not. Make sure also that you dont have any sexual encounter untill you are sure that you dont have anything cus that would suck if you infected anyone else I mean if you have anything...but if you have a doubt for sure go get test....and Hiv has flu like syptoms...well hopfully every goes ok...

If you had protected sex but you are confused about a STD you need to talk to a professional. I don't mean to be disrespectful when saying this but you need a crash course in how to be safe when it comes to sexual activity so that you better understand the do's and dont's of being active. If you are saying that you had sex with a cond*m but had oral without one then its very possible that you could have a STD, not necessarily related to the symptoms you described. With your intermittent pain in the pelvic and penile region you may have a kidney stone. With your lymph gland being swollen and sore you could have strep throat... it could be anything. Go to your local health department and ask them for a HIV test, they should test you for a number of STD's... but either way... you need to better educate yourself before you have sex again!

The lymph nodes might just be sore from allergies or, as you suggested, a cold coming on. There are many products on the market, such as Lymphosot, which you can buy in most vitamin sores and which will flush out your lymph nodes for you.

HIV takes longer than that to show up, so it is probably not symptoms of that. However it is always a good idea to take an HIV test after unprotected sex. Please do, ask your doc how long it takes before the virus shows up on a test, i can't remember for the life of me.

And from now use a condom!!!!

You sound like you are really not going to even relax until you know for sure. The only thing to do to alleviate you from all other variables is to get the real test! Go get your blood tested. You can find out THAT DAY (if you dont need counseling) which some people like to be prepared incase. But if it has only been that long there are drugs that you get on that help.. anyways I am not even saying you have it or that it even sounds like that but just get it off your chest by going to get tested.
