depends on where and how big the wound is; generally I would say, go ahead, shower, do not scrub at it; then rinse the wound, apply a THIN layer of antibiotic salve and cover it with a bandaid. unless it is the result of a recent cryosurgery or something...

The slimy coating is infection kicking in. Take a shower, then pour some peroxide on the wound 3 or 4 times a day until the scab forms and there is no more bubbling when you pour the peroxide on.

You can take a shower. If you want, try to keep your scab away from the hot water and soap.

You can take a shower and wash it off, but don't soak it. After your shower, be careful not to knock the scab off, and you can put some non-alergenic lotion, or some antibiotic on it as it heals.
