Its between the two people concerned anyway and its not hurting anybody. People are doing worse things. Some seem to be obsessed with interfering in other peoples sex lives though.

It's still a sin according to the Bible. But people who say that you shouldn't and still have sex outside of marriage don't fear God enough. They know it's wrong but they aren't convinced of the seriousness of sin, so that's why they excuse it. Or maybe they really don't want to have sex, but they lack self control. There could be many answers to this question.

Probably for the same reason that people say telling a lie is a sin even though they've told lies before. Because it's in the Bible.

Exodus 22:16 "If a man seduces a virgin who is not engaged to be married and lies with her, he shall give the bride-price for her and make her his wife.

It's not in God's will for a people to go around having sex with multiple partners. As it is written:

Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

"But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:2-5

It is a sin to have sex before marriage, but many people ignore the teachings in the Bible about it, and listen to the things of the world, because they sound so appealing, but those things of the world, will never truely satisfy us. Only having a relationship with Jesus Christ will truely satisfy us.

Who's to say that "most people" who say that sex before marriage is a sin commit the act?

I think this is a faulty "fact"...however, I suppose that isn't the point.

People, in general, can hardly help being hypocrites, and that includes Christians.

Just like it is a sin to feel pride, lust, anger, envy, etc. We all do. Some things are really hard not to do. It is a sin to lie, but most people probably lie on occasion.
Some people say they don't like seeing hypocrites in church. I think church is the perfect place. Perhaps, through hearing the word, hypocrites will become less hypocritical.

I say it because the Bible says it. And I didn't before marriage. If most people did the decent thing and kept their sexual antics to themselves, we wouldn't even be aware of what they are doing in or out of marriage.

people say it because a lot of people believe that you should save yourself only for your husband and nobody else. most people say this when they have gone against it because they have realized what a mistake it was. how you feel if you knew that your husband had had sex with a bunch of women before you
