HPV is a HORRIBLE virus that is spreading at a rate now higher than AIDS; because for so many years they did not have a name for it; did not know what it was and what damage it could do to the human. I know, because I have had it for 33 years-and until I found a good Dr. 2 yrs ago; I had never even heard of it!
And trust me, it does not definately cause ovarian cancer; but it did cause vulvarian cancer for me-so I've had to have that completley removed. But, again I was lucky because I was in Stage 3-and I thank God that she found it when she did!
So go to the Dr. and get tested, if you are sexually active-do NOT let this go and think it could never happen to you; because trust me-it can!!!!
Take care & God Bless

HPV is a sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer. It is detected through pap smears. The reason it is in the news is because there is now a vaccine for it. Some people want to make it a required vaccine for young girls to get alone with there other school vaccines.

Hpv is the human pampaloma virus. It can cause genital warts but often has no symptoms at all. If left untreated in women it can cause infertility and ovarian cancers. It is very common. They have now made a shot that is available for women up to the age of 26 that prevents one from getting it.

Human Papiloma Virus--also known as Genital Warts. They are sexually transmitted and you may or may not know you have them. Some people just get them on the inside and some people get them on the outside and some people get them all over their genitals and rectal areas and they can hurt. There are a number of different types of pappiloma virus and some of them can cause cervical cancer. Thats why its reeallllly important to have a PAP smear every year if you are sexually active. You could have the virus and not know it and develop cancer if you aren't tested. But the good news is, if its caught in the early stages it is almost always curable.
