I was at a restaurant the other day, and two teenage girls (at least 16 yrs old) and one of the girl's mother were sitting at a booth. BOTH girls had their feet on the seat. One was literally squatting, with her feet on the seat of the booth, the other was sitting with one foot up on the seat. (not tucked up nicely under her, but flat footed with her knee up above the table level).

Both of these girls were wearing nice makeup and nicely dressed. The mother was impeccably dressed and had an expensive designer bag. I find it amazing that they have no manners.

Does it bother you when you see people with their feet on chairs/booths/seats? It bothers me because they have their nasty dirty shoes that just walked across a dirty oily parking lot on a seat that I may be sitting on next. And you never know how recently they walked through dog doo either!

There are a lot of disgusting people out there who think they own the place. They have no courtesy or manners, and they make me sick. That other story about the FUV (cute!) make me so angry. I think it's disgusting that people think because their car is bigger, or whatever, that they can break laws or have no manners. Our human-ness is going down the tubes. This is becoming a society of me-me-me people. I just love that you wrote this because at least I'm not the only one left who has courtesy or respect for others.

Unfortunately, you can not get away from it. Servers are supposed to wipe the booths down before re-seating, but some of course do not. But even if there is no teens with bad manners there are young kids who stand in the seat to get out or move or whatnot. I have 3 kids and they have their feet on it plenty except when they eat. Plus, there are people who can not sit that way for long and have to move around... sorry but I don't think there is any way around it.

This type of behaviour exhibits a type of attitude of "I'm better than this place and I will treat it as if it is beneath me." Hence all the bad manners.

I called a woman on her poor driving habits (drove right thru a stop sign in a parking lot...nearly hitting my car with her FUV yes, F) and this woman first said..."My SUV is bigger, sorry you can't afford to own the road like I can" right in front of her teenage daughter who was giving me the finger right in front of her mother! I simply said "Oh you'll be a grandmother soon enough with such great mothering as you do". I simply drove off steamed as she and her daughter like idiots were flashing me the bird in front of Barnes and Noble in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I'm with you, it bugs me to no end. I call it the "no manners, class of a duck " attitude. People just don't care about squat anymore and undeniably, they are passing their distasteful habits on to a new generation of losers.

1. It's a reflection of 'zero' etiquette.

2. Thankfully you don't have to encounter them again.

Good Luck and Warm Wishes!
