The drum turns on some small wheels inside the dryer. One or more of these could need oil or replacement. The belt can also squeak under some conditions. If the dryer is fairly new, it should be worth fixing. It's not a long or hard job.

there is a bearing that the drum rides on it is probabaly this bearing however it could also be the motor bearings less likely is the belt there are very few moving parts inside the dryer so the options are limited

The bearings could be bad, the belt could be worn, the pullies could be out of alignment. Might just need some lubricant.

Bearing probably going out
or it could need a new belt.
When my husband was oversease I replace both myslef.

Sounds like the belt is loose. It will have to fixed immediately before it breaks.
