Why is it that people in this country are always saying that children come first before anything, but yet if you are not legal in this country suddenly that comes before children, and anything else. Every day families are ripped apart, and parents are ripped away from their children just because they do not have legal status in this country. My daughter's father was ripped out of her life and if being taken back to Mexico...who knows if she will ever see him again. My daughter and I are both US citizens but suddenly we have no rights, and who cares if she cries for him.....he's illegal! Just the other day I heard of Immigration officers going into a factory, locking the doors, and checking social security numbers on every worker. The ones that didn't have good numbers were boarded onto 2 buses, and hauled off to Mexico. This country always says children come first, but......

they seemed to forget that when they left these people's children in daycares all day, and didn't even bother to notify anyone, while their parent's were being shipped off to another country. What happened to children's rights? These people are human just like the rest of us, and their blood is as red as yours and mine....

Oh My God!!!!! I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.....I have 2 children..and there father is Guatemalan.....about 3 years ago...immigration took him back to his country KNOWING he has 2 children here...now all my kids can do is talk to there daddy on the phone and dont understand why he cant be here....And there is nothing i can do about it...I dont understand why everyone runs Illegal Immigrants into the ground when there are ones here that are really trying to get legal and obeys the laws and takes care of there families...like mine was and im sure like yours!! There should be something we can do since we are the mothers of their children....whats gonna happen when are children get older...how do we explain this.....I say it should be in the BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILDREN ...to let their fathers stay...

Good Luck with your situation Hun!!!!! We are gonna need it !!!!! : )

I'm sure they do, I guess people just see non american children worse off than american children with no homes or family for some odd reason. Also another reason prolly is cuz it's really hard to adopt kids here there are so many legal things and the parents can come back anytime but in another country their orphans u go pick them up and you're done. That's it.

The parents that chose to come here illegally should have thought about that before they came here illegally in the first place. Blame the parents because they knew what they were doing.

Would you cart your kid off to some other country and make them a fugitive who has to duck from the law for the rest of her life? Most likely NO.

There is no reason why your daughter's father did not get the process rolling while he was here. (If he had a work visa or whatever) But he didn't and now that is an excuse for him to stay?

No, none of that is your fault, but you did make the conscious decision to be with an illegal man, so you have a small hand in your child's crying.

They should go around and check SS#'s on a random basis. And the companies need to have a special ID card in case he comes back.

Sorry to hear about the trama that your daughter is experiencing in not being able to spend time with her father. She's obviously an innocent person caught in a bad situation.

However, America is at it's best when people follow the rules. There are rules for coming to America and there are rules for becoming a citizen. Right now, our boarders are open and this makes our country at risk. I have little sympathy for people who say the word 'bomb' on an airplane with a snicker and then wonder why the feds haul them off shortly after. I also have little sympathy for people who have no regard or respect for our laws and decide to run across the boarder and not follow protocol. There are risks in being a criminal. Did your husband every consider the consequences his illegal actions might have on others..like his family? Did he ever think about the harm and pain he might cause for his daughter?

I feel for your daughter, but your 'What about the children?' arguement doesn't sway me. The US isn't acting out of line. They are enforcing a law your husband chose to break. Don't try to make the US out to be the bad guy. They are responding to your husband choosing to disregard US policty.

When we say "children first" we're talking about legal American citizens - not some foreign anchor baby.

So if a man robbed a bank would he be able to still live at home because he's got kids? No.

L E G A L (Citizen)
I L L E G A L (Criminal)

Got it?

You're crying for the wrong reasons here, girl. YOU chose to be married to a criminal. That criminal has no rights. If he murdered someone and was sent to prison then your daughter would not get to see him freely every day. What's the difference? Sure, he didn't kill anybody, but he disrespects this country by hiding here illegally, and you do to by fraternizing with him.
If you want to see him so much feel free to take a trip to the land of the re-fried bean. We won't begrudge you of that, just don't expect our sympathy when your husband is hiding here like an illegal rat.

Well, because it is your home country's responsibilty to take care of your kids if your not a citizen here. You don't see me going over illegally to France and demanding the French government take care of my kids do you. There are AMERICAN kids right now slipping through the cracks, but I am supposed to pander to people who aren't even citizens, get real!
I suppose by your logic a guy with a family who commits burglary shouldn't go to jail because it would rip his family apart.

Guess what? Your baby daddy should have thought of the ramifications of his actions BEFORE he settled in ILLEGALLY. You too should have considered what it meant to be with an illegal.

CITIZENS come first... we are the ones paying the taxes and needing the services and we are the ones being forced out of medical care and education because of an overload due to illegal immigrants.

Seems to me you should have thought of your daughters feelings BEFORE you married an illegal alien and gave birth. It is NOT America's fault that you are in the situation you are in, it's YOUR fault.
Suck it up.
Go to Mexico and be with him.

It is completely irresponsible to put yourself into a situation where you are aiding or abetting a criminal. If you baby's daddy robbed a bank, should we feel sorry for you because he was in jail and your daughter was crying for him every night? Nope.

I know exactly what your going through. My friend just lost her husband of 3 years to deportation. He left behind 3 children, one of which is only 2 months old. Whats worse is he was starting the process of legalization but they took him anyways at the courthouse when he was only their to fill out paperwork that they told him to come in to do. All these people keep saying, well he was just illegal, yu should have married someone else. What the **** is wrong with them, would they just abandon the person they love for something so petty? Are you supposed to stop loving someone just because of their status? The way they think is utterly ridiculous. The government is going about this all wrong, yes we need to build our border, I have no doubt on that, but why split up millions of families? All these children that lose their parents are more than likely going to end up on welfare or in foster homes if the parents can't find proper care for them before they leave. Or worse tons of children born and/or raise in the USA since infantry will be forced to go to a country they know nothing about, in a culture entirely different then what they grew up with. Its a horrible system.

And to the lady above, deportation is entirely different then going to jail, one doesn't make you leave the country and lose almost all contact. Even people in jail can have visitors.

# 1 He was in this country illegally. There was no reason what so ever he couldn't have pursued lagal status. This is partially your fault for not geting him legal considering you are legal and the child is legal....it would have been easier to get him legal status.
If you had been illegal..and him too...I would hope the child would be sent back with you......The 14th amendment was skewed to include anyone born in the U.S......unfortunatly the 14th needs to be updated to refuse any future anchor babies.
The U.S. is the only country that has birthright citizenship...and thats wrong.
