I don't take sides in the OSAS debate although I am very familiar with the arguments that both sides use. Jesus is talking about the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. According to the OSAS teachers anyone who has been born again by the Holy Spirit will endure till the end because the power of God will uphold them through whatever trials God allows to come into their lives.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Those who fall away are merely professing believers who have never truly been saved in the first place.

Matthew 13:20 As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.

Whether that is true or not I leave it up to you to decide. I'm just telling you what the OSAS people say in regards to questions like this one.

I think it means, how a person goes on still believing after all the evil people around them start to mock or try to create doubt in the mind of a believer. Or, how they talk with the tongues of the serpent and say things about Christ and his followers. Yet the ones who stand strong till the end will be the winners. Also you have to look deeper into your statement. "Once saved always saved" The truth is if you are truley saved you will always be saved. Not just the people who show up to church every week, but the ones who truley believe. We are all sinners, but a believer is aware of his sin and repents and feels remorse his sin. Where as a non-believer is not even aware of his sin and does'nt care to be either. So, it is not that anyone is different, its just that you walk in the light and the others in the dark. But sadly this is where they will stay. So if you truley are saved and a believer, than what the statement means is that you have an understanding of Christs sacrafice and realize it. But, one who really realizes it and believes it in their heart and mind understands the complexities of his act, and once they have truley found this, it is impossible to deny. Hence the term always saved.

" once saved.... " This is wrong ! It is a deception that is why many christians thought being a christian is salvation..they do not say it with their mouths but their deeds...doing evil is lightly taken and with no remorse or sorrow for that...In Ezekiels 18 : if someone doing good changes and do evil , all his good deeds are forgotten ,therefore he shall die... but for those who were doing evil to turn and do good ,they will be saved ...I John 1 : 9 If we confess our sins , He is faithful to forgive us....Being saved is an everyday confession as Job relates to God about his children.. offering sacrifices EVERYDAY in case his children did curse God...
* Enduring to the end..... following Jesus is not easy... we will meet trials along the way... everyone who follows Jesus will meet persecutions as Jesus did... only through the saving grace of God would we endure to the end for the crown of life....Don't you know the persecutions faced by god's people as prophecied in Daniel 7 : 25 , Revelation 11 , 12 , 13 ? For 1260 years ( from 538 AD to 1798 ) God's people were persecuted for their faith in standing firm to God's TRUTH...true thousands were put to death for their faith ...and do you know that the GREATEST persecution is still to come just before Jesus returns ( and He is soon to come ) ? In Rev 13 , the repeatition of what happened in the 1260 yr DARK AGES will reoccur . The marking of the 666 by the Second Beast ( Rev 13 : 11 ) will be supported by the First Beast ( Rev 13 : 1 ) that was WOUNDED ( in 1798 ) AND THE WOUND WAS HEALED ....REPETITION ....So God's people will face harsher persecution. That is why the Bible says that if Jesus does not hasten his return ,there will no soul be saved !! All because of the persecutions satan dishes out to God's people with the hope that these will reject God and be his .. and destroyed with him too... You know the thing that satan did and will do again for the marking of the 666 ( his people ) is the Second ( idols ) and Fourth ( Sabbath ... which was changed from SATURDAY TO SUNDAY .. refer to Daniel 7 : 25 ) Commandments that would be enforced to the world to obey ... everyone except the people of God who do not have the mark of the 666... these are those that endured to the end...May God Bless you

In order to understand what is being said, we need to get an idea of the whole conversation.

Matthew 10

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

The word "saved" here does not indicate salvation but to be delivered from persecution

In Matt 24:13 it is specifically talking about the 70th week of Daniel or the great tribulation. and those that endure to the end will be saved by the LORD's return.

There is no greater security then to know without a doubt that you do have eternal life. You can see why we have this security in the 2nd link below

In my notes for Matt. 24:13 Jesus predicted that his followers would be severely persecuted by those who hated what he stood for. In the midst of the persecutions, however, they could have hope knowing that salvation was theirs. Times of trials serve to sift true christians from false or fair-weather christians. When you are pressured to give up and turn your back on Christ don't do it. Remember the benefits of standing firm, and continue to live for Christ.

Matt. 25:31-46- There are two interpretations for this passage: 1 is to determine who will enter the kingdom of heaven based on how they have treated the jewish people during the tribulation period. The second interpretation is this: The judgement that takes place at the great white throne, at the end of the millenial kingdom to determine who will enter eternal salvation in heaven and who will be consigned to eternal punishment in hell.

it means that if you follow the lord till the end you will go to heaven. If you believe in once saved, always saved you will be judged on judgement day. So you all the bad things you have done will be brought forward by God.

That's how I view it.

He who endures to end of every trial and test shall be saved from repeating the same thing over and over again, like the children of israel in the wilderness for 40 years, God brought them out of egypt, but egypt did not come out them immediately and they were tested and tried 40 year in the wilderness------ do you have what it takes to endure the test of your faith and overcome. or will you still be learning the same lessons 40 years from now?

I'm pretty sure it means the way Jesus did. He took every unkind gesture & physical abuse & downright torture without rebuking them. But withstanding it all, as this was why He was born, but above all ~obeying God's will. That's what it means~ holding onto God in the end, by which I mean true faith.

Look Where Jesus said that and to Who.
Then, know that the word "saved" means different things at different times.
