If so, why do Americans all think he's on their side? Obviously God has an empirial bent and has never shown any inclination toward democracy or representative government.

I don't know about you, but I'm fine with God being the sovereign Lord of the universe. Dissenters find their way into Satan's camp. It's questions like this that caused Lucifer's fall from Heaven.

Since all things were created by and from the Creator(god) .Then I would conjecture that God has dibs on all of creation.

America wasn't to be a democracy, it was to be a republic.
