My mother is not real sain ,she cut my sister and I of a while ago ,telling us she will only talk to us on her terms or not at all.So yesterday my sister and I both got a birthday card from her ,happy birthday ,I love you ! the thing is we are not twins! its my sisters birthday not mine! why would she send it to us both?We live in differant states and my card is adressed to me with my name on the inside so its not a misstake.

ok ,she is not senile and I know mothers are not perfect ,she is not confused and she wont answer my calls ,she may say she loves me in the letter but she will not talk to me because I caught her lying to get atention.

Wow....I'm sorry to hear it, it seem as if your mom is going through something she has no control over (drugs, mental instability) I hope there is someone in her life to guide her...in the mean time all you can do is pray for her getting better, if your not in the position to guide her yourself....The best of luck to you and your sis.

Listen, I honestly can not answer your question, because I have a question similar. My adopted dad and my stepmom lied to some doctors about something that I supposedly did. My adopted dad lied to a doctor right in front of my face, and I couldn't belive it. Actually I thought I was having a nightmare. Maybe she's on drugs. I'm not trying to be mean to you in any kind of way, but have you considered it? She also might just be trying to get some attention. Whether it's from you or not, I don't know.

I think that your mom maybe has some childhood memories or something from her past that makes her act this way but she can get better so just pray for her and she will come around just dont loose faith in her remember everyday that she is why youre here so its kind of like your living 4 her so jus keep praying

Be happy that she sent a card saying she loves you. Be nice. Realize that it isn't easy to be insane. If you like talking with her or visiting , then do, otherwise, don't. Maybe send a card back at least.

Sweetie, yeah it sounds as if she is a bit confused. But, nontheless she's your mom. Whoever told you mom's were perfect? We come in all shapes and forms. I'm sure you have "friends" that are on the confused side and they are accepted just fine.

well if she doesnt want to talk then simply write her a letter then she cant interrupt you, ask her what her problem is, even though she might be a little strange she still is your mother.

maybe your mother love you very much so she want you to remember her birthday to and maybe she forgot that only one is the birthday your sister.
Just take the card and say thank you to your mother and say
"I love you to mom".

i dont know is she mentally ok, sometimes it could be a sign of age, or a sign that shes not feeling good..my mom is goofy sometimes but its ok
