A true liver sausage is a different color than Braunsweiger (almost gray instead of pinkish) and can have noticeable chunks of meat in it. Braunsweiger tends to be more processed and has a smoother consistency.

I personally think it's the same thing. It sure taste's the same to me. I think it just might be different manufacturers.
Like I said they both taste the same.
