I have a set of porcelain that I got last Christmas. Almost every piece is chipped. I have heard that Corelle is a good brand that doesn't chip. Any other suggestions?

Corelle won't break or chip, even dropped on the floor. If durability is what you're after, Corelle is your best bet.

CORELLE! The stuff is excellent! I've dropped a few plates on the (tile covered concrete slab) floor of my apartment and I haven't had a single chip. My mom bought a set in 1989, she got rid of them last year just because the pattern was out of style. They're also fairly inexpensive too; I bought a service for 4 at Wal-mart for $23.99 back in August.

I'm currious to know also. I have been trying to do some research on the subject - seems that Corelle is one of the best...I'll be watching.

Here is a website so you can see what all the different name brand dishes offer in style and functionality. Some are dishwasher, oven, freezer and microwave safe - and chip resistant.

Mikasa makes a brand called studio nova that is pretty sturdy. I have a set and I have gotten lots of positive comments on it.
