what is rar file and how do I work with it?

It is a type of compressed file, I don't think winzip will open it, it might, but I would recommend using WinRAR. http://www.rarlab.com/

An .rar file is a compressed file just like a zipped file but you need to download a rar program to extract the file or even viewing it.
