I visited a church a few years ago where the congregation spoke in tongues AND was "possessed by the spirit" to run down the aisles. I wonder if this is the evangelical equivalent of jogging. If so, is it enough just to do it on Sundays?

It should not be done at all during a church service. Run for your life away from this Pentecostal church. God is not the author of confusion, and certainly would not underwrite total chaos.

The Spirit never calls attention to Himself, but points to Jesus always. (John 16:13-15)

It is a part of worship
and done a lot at the church I am a part of
and tongues is wonderful you should go back and try for yourself

Not exercise. It is worship. Without the Holy Ghost, you would not understand it.
