First, the reason we sweat is to cool our bodies. The warmer or more stressed we are, the higher our body temperature goes and the more we sweat. There are two different kinds of sweat glands. One kind is all over your body, and the other is in places that have higher concentrations of hair (scalp, armpits and genital area). The first kind produces basically just salty water, and that doesn't stink. The second kind produces oily sweat, and bacteria love to eat that. But even the bacteria doesn't really smell - they're always in your armpits, but they don't always smell. The smell is actually the waste produced by the bacteria after eating your oily sweat. The smell is bacteria gas. Scientists might not explain it this way, but seriously, it's bacteria farts.

Sweat itself doesnt smell. It starts to smell when it is left and the bacteria in it start to multiply.
We sweat from every skin covered inch on our bodies, It is the cooling system of the body, if we didnt sweat we would overheat and die. why should the armpit be exempt?

Sweat by itself doesn't smell at all. It's the bacteria that live on your skin that mix with the sweat and give it a stinky smell. You dont only sweat from ur armpits, but that place is usally the most noticable. there are numerous sweat glands there.

Sweat is water getting out of your body trying to stabilize body temperature when your hot. In the sweat, the body free some toxins, when those toxins got in contact with skin bacteria it gets smelly. A lot of parts of body sweat, but the most noticeable are armpits.

the sweat doesn't actually produce an odor...once it's excreted onto your body, bacteria begins to grow, and that's where the odor comes in.
