do they hurt? ...well of course they do...what kind of pain is it? im thinking about getting one..but i hate pain...this isnt really a health question

its painful.. its kinda the same feeling when you get your ears pierced.

for my birthday this year, my boyfriend paid for me to get my bellybutton and nipples pierced. the pain for my bellybutton wasnt that bad compared to my nipples, just make sure the piercer massages around your naval to loosen up the tissue so the needle is easier to poke through and that they use a fresh needle out of a package instead of a piercing gun. its like a sharp stinging pain for a little less than 30 seconds. it'll heal fully in about 4 months, and every time you shower clean the ring and outside and inside the bellybutton with anti-bacterial soap (they say dial is the best, but DONT use body wash to clean it, it wont fight against infections or germs) i really like mine, i've had it for about 6 months, its time for me to change te jewelry though. hope this helps! :D

It's just like getting your ear pierced, there's no cartilage there so it's not like it hurts more than regular skin. No worries
If you've had your ears pierced you know what I'm talking about but if you haven't it just throbs for a little while, just make sure you know the person is using a sterilized needle and their shop has a good reputation.

I dont think you should do it at all. I know so many people who have had it done and now they dont like it so they've taken it out and have a big scar. If you dont like pain in the first place it wont be worth it. Just a thought... :)

My sister-n-law got her button pierced. She said it hurt like heck. She said it hurts worse than getting pierced in the top of your ear and worse than cutting yourself.

I have never had it done but alot of my friends in high school did. I hear that it does not hurt too bad but you have to take very GOOD care of it.

its one of the worst..do you have the cartilage in your ear pierced? it doesn't hurt as much as the top of your ear....best piercing i have was a little lower than my bellybutton...enjoyed that piercing
