Im 25 years old and have never met my real father, I have just recently asked my mother for any information she may have on him but it was very limited. My mother is 45 and said he was a bit older, his first name is Michael and his last name may be Crough but my mother was not 100% on that. In 1981 he was an I.T. person for a major computer company of the time doing work at Luke AFB in Arizona, she was in her 20's when she got pregnant, when she told him he said he didn't want involved so she left to come back home here in Oklahoma. I have no idea how to track down someone with this limited of information so any help or advice any of you may have could be very helpfull, thanks.

Also, once i find him can i request DNA testing to prove paternity or anything along those lines. I guess what im asking is what are my rights after 25 years? I feel like I should have some if I do actually find my biological father.

First I'd ask myself why I want to find him. Do you want child support?? Do you want to be included in his family?? Do you just want to know where you came from?? My ex-husband tracked down his Bio-Dad just to know where he came from, but his was an adoption so there was more information. With information security in the limelight now I'm not sure how far you're going to go. Try sites like ClassMates to see if you can find someone fitting his description...age, work history. Also, try Air Force websites if he was in...they'll have record. Scrape up ANY information you have to help narrow the search. Peoplesearch can help but they charge. Be prepared that this man may not want to have anything to do with you. It won't be personal, but you represent a time in his life that he left behind a long, long time ago

Go to the company where he worked when your mother met him. They might have some information on him.

Just ask student loans or VISA...they'll find him within the hour !!No, i'm sorry hun. I don't mean to make light of your situation. It must be disheartening not to know where to start.
