because he's two and still can't control everything. He will need someones help to get him up on the toilet, someone to make sure he wipes well, someone to flush, and someone to tell him and help him wash his hands and get his clothes back up. He's 2. Give him a break.

Geez, ask your own mother if you were even potty trained at 2....
My 2 year old can't reach the toilet yet and needs help getting on. We have a step stool for him, but between balancing on it, trying to unbutton and pull down his pants, and then aim his little guy in the right direction all while having to hold it in till the right moment he most of the time needs some help! Be glad he's peeing in the toilet at 2 and be patient--- besides, it sounds like your wife is the one who has to stop everything and help him-- not you, so why do you even care?

Potty training is a very crucial thing in a childs life. Most Dr. recommand that parents begin by physically placeing the child on the potty chair and staying with them till they are done so that proper paper work can be completed befor the child leaves the room. Proper hand washing is also very important. often a reward is given for sucuss. even after a child has begun to us the facilities on their own the child still wants the parent to know that they have done a good thing. It is NOT abnormal for small children to ask for assistance and praise.

It's good that he tells her he has to go pee. He probably feels safe to take her with him, and it can also be hard to get pants on and off to go. My 2 year old always tells me when he has to go pee, he'll start going by himself just give him time.

because when he first learnt how to pee on his own he would have told her and got rewarded with a positive response from her. if she stops doing that be prepared for setbacks as if he stops receiving positive reinforcement he may well stop going to the toilet. If however he's still in nappies, he night be ready to start toilet training. If his not well done on having him trained so early!!

He probably still thinks it's a really cool and exciting thing. When you were potty training him, he probably got a lot of praise when he went. He probably just wants to have that praise still. My 3 year old still announces almost every time she has to go to the bathroom.

Hes a little boy. Still very high risk for drowning. I would always accompany him to the bathroom or anywhere there is water that can create a danger to him. He needs guidance and help. That is your job as his parents.

Because he is only 2 years old. My gosh...stop acting like he is 16 and still wanting someone to hold his hand when he has to go to the bathroom.

Be glad he's trying to use the toilet instead of his pants!
If he needs help, give it to him!
