According to Vedic Literatures,
Transcendentalists are those who are trying to transcend the material modes of nature and enter the Spiritual realm. There are many kinds of Transcendentalists depending on the path they take and their position of transcendence or Realization.

1. What is their view of God?
- All of them view God as Absolute Truth. It depends on what realization of the Absolute Truth they have attained.

2. What are their values?
- Their Values again depends on their Realizations. But they are all aware that there is a purpose of Life beyond this material existence and there is a Truth beyond this gross matter.

3. How do they define truth?
- Truth is defined by Eternal existence. That which keeps changing cannot be truth.

4. Do they have an optimistic or pessimistic view of life?
- They have Realistic view of Life.

5. What is their view of society?
- Since there goal is simply Transcendence, hence if the society helps them in that, they take it up and if the society obstructs their goal they give it up.

6. Who is their authorities?
- They generally look for those who have already achieved transcendence or are in realization higher than them for Guidance. God is the Supreme Authority and the Absolute Truth. Those who pass the message of God without tampering the message, automatically become the authority.

7. What is their view of education?
- It’s the same way in which they view Society. The education that teaches them about Absolute Truth and path of transcendence they accept. Others they reject and don’t bother about.

8. Do they view man as inherently good, evil, or somewhere in between?
- Most Transcendentalists, since they already realize the difference between matter and Spirit, and thus attempt for Transcendence, Do not view Man or life as a material phenomenon. They see every man or rather every life form as neither Good, nor Evil, nor any thing in Between. They see them as Eternal Soul, part and parcel of God, the absolute Truth.

I have tried to explain your questions, as it is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita. Your Questions are very intelligent and I would advise you to please read Bhagavad Gita As It Is.
