i have a real copy of windows 98 se on loan to me and i am trying unsuccessfuly to copy it. i have the start up disk, and a product key but i cant get the cd to copy. why? i have been using cd burner xp to burn them. can anyone tell me how to do this (in theory) and/or what i am doing wrong?

I would use a program like Nero and use the disk copier. Its a free trial.

You cant do it because of a little thing called "copy protection", designed to stop people doing exactly what you are trying to do. Buy your own legit version.
