For just when thier faiths get tested, they would be reminded by the covenants. prophets faiths get tested too. Not just ones who subscribe to certain doctrines. And some covenants for the hereafter is what they were promised for rewards. For example, GOD promised abraham(pbuh) that his sons shall be many as the stars in the heavens. No 2 prophets paths were the same. Just like it is the very truth nobody's path is simiklar to the next. Covenants given to moses(pbuh) were just warnings for what was preordained to come. With him, it was more of a giving warning to the land where he was. Basically, he was GOD's intecesor. If you don't believe GOD speaks, here, HE sends one to speak for HIM. The only true covenant I know GOD gave to moses(pbuh) was that HE saved him for HIMSELF. All other covenants were for us and warnings.
Covenants are there for reminders. So when your path gets strayed from you, you will know it is GOD when the covenant becomes true. This rule of the love for humanity, as you put it, is just GOD doing what HE is best at. Being GOD.
PEACE! SALAM! SHALOM!

A covenant is God's way of communicating, an intention of wanting a relationship with man.
God does not break His covenants, but man has been the one that has always broken the covenants with God.
God continued to make covenants with Man, because he loved man and found him worthy of redemption.

God's covenants are His promises. So yes-I would say it's showing his love for humanity. My favorite is the rainbow. It's God's covenant/promise that he will never flood the earth again. So whenever I see a rainbow-I see a physical sign of God's love-it's amazing.
God promises are like gold-they are real and true.

G-d has made a covenant with everybody on earth, not just abraham and moses. its sort of like a contract between two parties - people promise to act a certain way, and in return, G-d promises to act a certain way.

covenant-Middle voice from G4862 and G5087; to place jointly, that is, (figuratively) to consent (bargain, stipulate), concur: - agree assent, covenant.
God made an agreement with Moses and Abraham in form of a promise of man following laws of God, and in return, those who obey those laws are rewarded.
Genesis 9:9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
It is a never ending promise made between man and God.

Hmm. I am not a rabbi -- but I will try my best to explain. True what you have stated last --because of love for humanity. That is rule number one. Rule number two -- there has to be something "in writing or in a contract form or suggestive" so the wildness of humanity could be tamed to go -- one way, and the right way. This ca-hos that existed then to believe, to worship umpteen g-ds and g-d alike, to sacrifice human beings, to worship umpteen idols etc. had to end -- for one and unique way -- logical, reasonable to mankind. And it did by the choice of Abraham -- the rest is details and history.

The covenant that God made with Abraham replaced into that the Messiah might come by using his seed (or lineage). Their relationship replaced into faith and obedience based, yet additionally plenty closer. Abraham seen God as a buddy; somebody he could turn too in circumstances of choose and could have confidence wholeheartedly.

I'm not sure, but I think it was a type of agreement. God protected or provided for Israel or whoever the covenant was with, and Israel or whoever had to obey God.

no one comes close to God as far as perfection. He chooses who He chooses. a covenant is a promise, that God will walk with them if they walk with Him. imperfection on man's part and perfection on God's part there will be problems, still God forgives.

It is a relationship that God Himself makes. He calls people to Himself tells them He is their God and commands them to walk before Him in holiness. A great blessing to those wandering around in darkness otherwise. He leads them and is their great reward.
