On boxes of rice krispies the recipe can be found to make the rk treats.

To make the chocolate version of rice krispie treats, buy a box of cocoa puffs & use these instead of the regular rice krispies,& for a very colorful batch mix half & half of the 2 krispies.

follow the recipe, melt a couple tablesploons of pnut butter for about 15-20 seconds in microwave & add to the mix, then add the m&m's(put m&m's in zip lock bag & crush a little with a rolling pin or a small pan)mix well by spoon,ADD RICE KRISPIES LAST,pour into a buttered bread pan.Wet your hands lightly & press gently into corners/around edge.
You can also add a handful/couple tablespoons of dry oatmeal & give them some fiber among the sugar.
Is best to cut these while warm & use a wet knife, then set for hour or so before serving.

Peanu Butter Rice Crispy Treats Ingredients 1 cup light corn syrup 1 cup sugar 1 cup smooth peanut butter 6 cups puffed rice cereal Combine the corn syrup, sugar, and p.b. in a dutch oven on the stove or in a really big microwaveable bowl. Heat gently until the sugar is completely dissolved, stirring a lot! It will probably need to come to a very gentle boil to do this. Remove from heat, and immediately stir in the rice krispies. Spread into a greased 9x13 or other pan, and chill in the fridge until firm. Cut into squares, and voila! Here's the trick to making these hold together really well: When you put it into the pan, butter your fingers and press the mixture firmly into the pan. May be topped with melted chocolate chips, in little drizzles over the cut squares (pretty) or just a flat layer over the whole pan, or you can sub some choc. chips/candy for a teensy bit of the cereal. I like'em best plain, though.
