I really like this guy at work. And no matter what happens I have always tried to piece together his behavior. I want to ask him, but what if he doesn't and I will still continue to see him. I don't know whether he is being nice or maybe trying to hint me something. Like last week I went in his area of work to pick up some items for my department. And he kept on walking by and my co-worker was helping me out. He finally waved hi to me. And soon one of his co-workers came out to talk to us who was an older women. We stood there talking and he comes out of nowhere and just tries to join. He didn't say a word and left. And as we left he was there again to say goodbye. I really don't know what to make of this. And also I get nervous for some reason I can't even greet him. How lame is that? Please give me the best advice you can give me.

You are nervous because his strange actions, his own insecurity and shyness are the product of an uneasy environment he has created when you are around him. Best advice is to stay away from office romance. The risks are far too steep, you could lose your job, you could lose your reputation, you could have to deal with hurt and pain over a future breakup and have to see his face every week. Its not worth it when you realize that there are literally billions of other "fish in the sea." If you end up together, your productivity at work could go down because you lose focus at knowing he is just around the corner.

Work relationships can work, but if they don't things can backfire incredibly. You have to realize that you will be the talk of the whole place.

Take your time, and wait for more clues. I am in a very similar situation and the guy keeps running hot and cold. I can't tell if he's just being a clown or if he is trying to hint at something. I think mine just escalated recently, but I'm still being very cautious. Sometimes it's very tricky to know the difference.

You should think of him as a friend first. Im really young but i know what you mean. just so you know guys arent complicated but they make us think so. You're not sure about his personality yet he catches your eyes? well then just let it flow dont think too much of it. Sometimes its just dissapointing yourself when you think "maybe he does like me" and the next thing you know another women is in his arms so just start as friends maybe when you finally know know him he's better of as a friend with you or maybe hes "the perfect guy" im not saying let go dont like him im saying wait be patient take your time. time will tell.
Butterflies is common. Its not lame lol it would make it lame if there werent any butterflies. all i can say is wait. good luck!

To me the best thing to do is to talk to him.you will never know anything until you ask,the worst thing that you could do is let him see the shy side of you, just go up to him and start talking.
