He's annoying, immature, plays basketball 24/7, picks his nose, and listens to R&B, rap, or anything that's on the radio. Could I act like the complete opposite of him, if not myself, to get him not to like me? thanks!

No. The more that he will be interested what you are up to. And chances are (if he is a geek or a goofy guy), he will probably TRY TO UNDERSTAND what you are doing and accept it. Remember he likes YOU, so that includes everything that you do.
Tell him frankly to stop if you find him bothersome. At least the words will be clearer to him.

It is best to just be honest .Tell him tht you are not interested in being his girlfriend, tell him that if he continues to bug you you won't be his friend.

No,just tell him you don't like him and to leave you alone,then walk away.If he continues to bother you tell someone about it(parents,teacher)
