Well, this one of those questions that actually has quite a few correct answers. The world hour record, which is basically how fast can a rider on a traditional bike (no aero wheels and drop bars) go in one hour,is generally considered as the mark for the 'fastest' cyclist. At the moment, it is 49.700 kms (30.8 mph) and held by Ondrej Sosenka(CZE) for an amateur, and 56.375 km for UCI held by Chris Boardman, but these record changes like the weather. There is another cattergory, for Human Powered Vehicle's (HPV's), which are usually recumbent bikes with aero shells, and the fastest these guys have gone is about 72 mph! The average cyclist can ride about 25 mph top speed, and a good racer can hit the low 30's on a flat. Good question, but one with no exact answer.

I think 49 or 50 mph is the record for a bike on flat ground without anything blocking the wind in front. I think some guy did 135 mph or something drafting a truck at Bonneville.

I see that really some the solutions fail to inform you the biggest element you would possibly want to be doing even before mounting the bike for a 60 mile holiday or any holiday for that count number and that is to do your stretching workouts, legs, hands, and reduce back and so on. before using it may help relax your muscular tissues to start with. initiate your holiday at an basic %. to and drink a number of of fluids and snack now and again and paintings your way as a lot because the similar old speed you want to maintain throughout the holiday. not in any respect initiate out at a short %., this is going to certainly result the perfect 30 or 40 miles you holiday, your skill stages for the perfect 30 or 40 will shrink mutually consisting of your favourite speed this is what we used to call bonking out. at the same time as or upon ending the holiday repeat the stretching workouts to eliminate any lactic acid out of your muscular tissues and drink fluids at the same time as finished to interchange what your body has used.

It depends on the speed of the bicycle and the physical shape of the man.

Downhill, on extremely high-tech mountain, a man has gone in excess of 200 mph. That is fast.
