Just wet your legs. I would let them soak in the water for a little bit. Then, take them out of the water one at a time and rub hair conditioner on them or shaving cream. Then shave, start at the bottom and go up, be careful at the knee. Shave all the way up. Rinse the razor after each stroke halfway up your leg. Then start again. Rinse and repeat. When finished put that leg in the water and shave the other leg the same way. It is real easy but you might cut yourself a few times, that is okay. You will get the hang of it. Just make sure you use a new razor if disposables. You also need to lotion or put baby oil on them when your done.

Does shaving legs leave you with ingrown hair, nicks or razor rash? You can stop that, from ever happening again.

There is more to shaving than just a bit of soap, water and a razor.

On this page you will learn great tricks, for getting the best, closest shave ever, without nicks or razor rash.

So get your razor ready and let's go shaving legs!

Invest in a good razor

The disposable ones, although inexpensive will not do as good of a job as a reusable, and yes, a little bit more expensive razor. I use "Venus" by Gillette and I highly recommend it.

Change your blades frequently

A dull razor increases the chances of ingrown hair, and will give you those annoying nicks and a razor rash.

Do not shave right after getting out of bed in the morning

Your skin is more puffy first thing in the morning, so your hair stubble is not as visible. I recommend waiting 20-30 minutes before grabbing a razor.

Scrub or loofah before shaving

Grab a soft skin brush or a loofah, and give your legs a nice massage...Start at the ankles and work your way up to the thighs, in slow circular motion.

This will get rid of the dead skin which can clog up your blade. Plus it will give you smooth and soft skin.

Wet your hair first

Before grabbing that razor wet your skin for 2-5 minutes. When your skin is well hydrated, your hair will stand up, allowing for a closer shave.

Don't shave after a long bath

If you're planning to shave in the bath, do it in the first 5 minutes. It takes skin just under 10 minutes to shrivel in warm water, which makes it harder to get at the hair and get a close shave.

Don't use soap

Shaving cream will moisturize your skin and the razor will glide on better. Another option is to use a hair conditioner. It will leave your skin smooth and silky and it does just as good of a job as a shaving cream. I buy an inexpensive kind and I love the results.

Let your shaving cream sit on the skin

Allow your shaving cream (or conditioner) to sit on your skin for a couple of minutes. That will moisturize the skin and the hair will stand up for a closer shave.

then take the razor and run it up ur leg(not too hard!) in the opposite direction that the hair is growing

First of all, make sure your legs are wet! Never shave dry and without water! Then put shaving cream on. I recommend the gel kind like Skintimate or something. Then get a razor and just run it up your legs! You may cut yourself a few times since you're just starting but you'll get better once you have been shaving for a while. Good Luck =]

You're going to want to go get some shaving cream like skintament (sp?) or something like that (even guys shaving cream really works b/c its for the face so its really great...prevents get'n cuts better!) And a razer of your choice....Its a tough thing to find the right razer...I like guys razer too b/c I really cut myself around the knees and ankles. All ya gotta do is suds ur legs up and start from the bottom and and come up torwards your knee. Don't press really hard but you should be able to feel it just fine to know you're doing it right. Hope this helps a little. Becareful of the area behind your knees...they cut very easily.

I like to use gel instead of cream. When you are in the bath or shower just put shaving gel on your legs and gently run the razor up your legs. I use the venus razor but any razor works. You will probably find that the disposable ones aren't as good though so you might want to get a better razor. If you cut yourself don't worry it doesn't hurt it just bleeds a lot.
Good Luck and enjoy how nice it feels to have smooth legs!

Never shave along the top of a bone. Always shave from side to side across the leg to prevent cuts and scaring.

I learned how to shave legs, etc., as a orderly shaving people for surgery.

get a thing of shaving cream and a razor, shave up the leg from the ankle . rinse your razor off after every row. Use warm water the first time and take your time. Nair is good also.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

get a razor and some shaving cream.. get about a small cupped handful in your hand and spread it all over your shins and knees.. your thighs if u want but since ur just starting u prolly dont need it ... get the razor and slowy drag it up your leg.. skipping knees at first.. for better results rinse the razor after each stroke.. be more careful on the knees becasue with an ew razor head you can cut your self easily. if you do cut yourself.. put pressure on it and you will be fine. that spretty much it. make sure you keep your legs moisturized with pleanty of lotion.. if u have any more questions just ask tem
