My mother used to say that food always tastes better when someone else prepares it for you. Are these triangular morsels made by yourself or by someone else? In any case, I think it has to do with there being more of the sandwich filling area coming in contact with your tastebuds when you take a bite.

Pretty sure they don't but, things that look appealing to the eye can have an effect on how you perceive the taste.
Would a cheesecake be more appealing to you if it had garnish on top instead of just plain?
