why do sandwhiches cut into triangles taste better than ones cut into rectangles or not cut at all..seriously?

My mother used to say that food always tastes better when someone else prepares it for you. Are these triangular morsels made by yourself or by someone else? In any case, I think it has to do with there being more of the sandwich filling area coming in contact with your tastebuds when you take a bite.

Pretty sure they don't but, things that look appealing to the eye can have an effect on how you perceive the taste.

Would a cheesecake be more appealing to you if it had garnish on top instead of just plain?

Because their called "canopies", and canopies always taste better than just regular bread w/ the crusts.
