This is a question you should really think about, and answer yourself.
If you do decide that you want a tattoo, then take your time to pick a design that means something to you and that you will be happy with for a long time.
As far as the location, that's something to really think about too. Some tattoos look better on certain areas of your body. Also, would you want to be able to cover the tattoo with clothing so it would not be visible all the time? Sometimes in different work environments, etc. you might not want your tattoo exposed.
I have two tattoos, and am pleased with them, but I do know some people who really regret every getting one.

That decision is totally up to you, dear. tattoos should be YOURS and yours alone. It should describe/express/symbolize you, your beliefs, or loves. It should be thought out and have personal meaning, you are less likely to regret it you way.... It is a very important decision not to be taken lightly. I would at least wait if you are asking other people if you should even get one. But you probably shouldn't get one if you are that uncertain, btu anyway,Ask yourself, think it over, decide all for youself, because all of the people answering will not have to carry it around forever. You should find a good and steady reason IF you want one, and why. Don't get it because someone say to get one, or not to get one, or to be cool, a 'rebel' or different...because getting a tattoo will make you none of those...your personality, actions and attitide do...Do not take tattoos lightly.
Also keep in mind that your current/future career may not allow tattoos, so you may want to consider a place easy to hide when necissary. You have the rest of your life to decide, don't rush.

Are you a man or a women? I have one on my upper thigh. It can be seen when I am in my bathing suit or less clothing, but not when I need to dress up for work, etc. My hubby has one on his ankle and his shoulder. The one on his ankle hurt really BAD! He got one when he was 18 and wished he didn't. It doesn't mean much to him now. Make sure that you wait until you are sure what you want. I got mine when I was 29 and thought about it for a long time. It has a lot of meaning that will last forever.

I'm not gonna tell you what you should or shouldn't do.
I have a tattoo on my big toe. It has a special meaning to me, won't sag when i'm older and doesn't cause a problem at job interviews.
If you decide to get one, get it in a place where it can be covered up if necessary and most importantly, get something that is significant and meaningful to you, not some godawful celtic armband or the like.

A tattoo should be a personal choice, you shouldn't need to ask others opinions if you should get one or not..
If your getting one just to "fit in " or be cool, I would recomend sitting down and seriously think about what you are doing.. as tattoo's are forever... If you want one for a more personal or say spiritual reason or artistic reason then go ahead and don't listen to anyone else but yourself in this matter as you are the owner of the tattoo not them.... whatever makes you happy man!!

Geezer if you've gotta ask people what to get and where to get I don't think you really want it but just want to be able to say you've got one and show off.
You wanna know what to get take a look around a tatoo shop, you got something else in my mind they will design it for you.

If you want it so much do it but it has to be something special to you and somethin which you won't find stupid or boring after 5 or 10 years.And pls forget about those ugly things like dragons or skulls or skeletons.And don't tattoo the name of a rock star or your boyfrined's name.

the questions you need to ask yourself are, what do you want done and why. If you do get one, you cant change your mind after. You will have it for the rest of your life. I knew what and where i wanted mine a long time before i had my first one. If you are asking if you should get one i would say not at this point. you could always have a henna tattoo to see what it looks like before you have the real thing done. At least that way you will know if you like it once its done. I hope that helped a little.

Many people will tell you it's a big decision, that's true. I had two done when I was 17, I'm now a lot older and I regret them both. At the time I was adamant I would like them for the rest of my life, I was wrong. So when you find one you like, leave it for a year, if you still like it then, then go ahead. One year is a lot shorter than nearly a life time of regret.

women look sexy with tatoos on the lower back but men look very sexy with tatoos on the arms or upper back!!maybe a tatoo of sunset or sunrise??or a bottle of morgans spice??
