You may be able to do both--if that isn't possible you can be on the track team and still play golf, but really you should do what you want to do.

run track in the season and then play golf all summer. After a couple of years you'll see which one you like and are best at..Golf is a lifetime, enjoyable activity while track is over be the time you graduate. Enjoy your teenage years with your friends because that's what school is all about. Good luck

I was in the exact same situation in HS. I'm telling you, PLAY GOLF, I chose track and I have regretted not playing golf ever since. Especially if you have a passion for golf. There is no PRO track team but you can make good money as a golfer, even if you are just an amateur.

Do what you want to and let your friends fall as they may. If they are really your friends and you choose golf, they'll stick around. Surely a sport is not going to make a friend flip out and not be your friend. If you choose golf, there are some pretty nice college scholarships out there in that field. Hope you do what you enjoy! Good luck to you!

I am in love with the same two sports that are Track & Field and Golf. Make sure that you organise your life and your schedule accordingly. Don't pressure yourself to over-work or to worry about friends getting mad, the decisions are yours and if your friends get mad over something they aren't the best of friends really are they? Good luck with whatever choice you make

Play SPEED GOLF! This is where you try to hole out in as few strokes as possible in the shortest time possible, running from shot to shot. +1 stroke for every minute over 1 1/2 hours, -1 stroke from every minute under!! Golf and track combined - Lowest score wins!
Or you could do both if time allows, though maybe simply choosing the one you want to do the most is the plan - without letting others influence your choices. If they don't think it's cool you're doing what you like, then maybe they weren't such great friends afterall?

Do what you like best. If you are good enough playing golf may work out for you in your future. Who will be teasing you if you are playing a college sport while they are going to a community college?

The fact that you posted this question in the golf category is that you want golfers to answer your question, and naturally we would suggest you choose golf. Conciously or unconciously you've chosen already!!
Play golf, it lasts you a life time, and if you're really good makes lots more money.

I would personally say play golf because that is a game that you can play and enjoy for the rest or your life... if you learn how to play well now, you will really enjoy it.

Do what you WANT to do. you'll be happier in the end.
Neither is going to make you rich, unless you are really really good at golf.
