I (personally) think that is within their rights. Immunisation is free(here) so there is no reason not to have it done . It is good for everyones safety, especially children , who tend to pass all the good stuff around that they pick up.

Well in some cases its a good thing... I don't want my child exposed to things that are preventable. Some kids are new to our country and should not have to go without an education because they haven't received their shots. Children without health insurance should also not have to go without. If their is a family history or a child who's had reactions that could be deadly this is also an issue. I think overall if a child has insurance and is attending pubic schools/day cares they should be immunized. As far as silly shots like the flu, chicken pocks, that sorta stuff I don't really think they are necessary.

Absolutely vital to the day care centre - you can not endanger a whole class of children by allowing unvaccinated ones in. I saw this situation with ferals sending their kids to visit a two week old baby - not old enough to be immunised. The mother was in a panic because they were exposing her to whooping cough for one thing not to mention measles, mumps, rubella. Ever met a polio sufferer - not fun.

I think it's a matter of personal opinion. I, personally, feel more comfortable knowing that my child has not only had his shots, but that his school makes sure others around him have had theirs.
There are licensed child care centers, and unlicensed ones. If someone does not feel comfortable having someone regulate whether or not a child should be immunized, then there are still plenty of options for child care.

I think they are fully within their rights to deny care to children who are not immunized. If everyone decided to not immunize their children we'd be back to polio, diphtheria and all the other diseases that have been controlled since the 50's.

I can understand it because nobody else wants their child to get sick from those of them who aren't immunized and also childcare centers don't want to get suied for a child getting an illness.

The question is...why would someone not immunise their child?

Makes sense to me, I wouldn't want another child making mine sick when that child could have had a simple shot. But then again, my child is not in daycare.

I think it's a good idea. No one wants their child exposed to someone that can get some pretty nasty diseases, even if they are immune.

Yup, why should some parents feel they don't have to keep their children up to date?? I wouldn't want my kids to get sick because of another parents negligence!!!!
