I am working in a restaurant. My co-workers get on my nerves, they tease me a lot. Saying if I want to be their girlfriend, they even said I am ther wife. They laugh when someone tells the others to leave me alone bacause he wants me. They make sexual gestures as if they are licking a vagina while I am eating lunch!. Or by touching my mouth with carrots as I passed by. I am even afraid they put something on my food. One time they offered me beer but I did not accept it. I feel very humilliated when they tell me that I am fat, or that how many months I am pregnant, they even grab my rolls or pull my hair (not hard). One time he told me if I want $10 for a kiss. I remember one of my customers even asked me if I want jewelry, told me that I was the most beautiful girl he has seen and that he likes me.

What should I do? I am not as loud when I get upset as I should be. I have never been in this type of environment before. I mean I don't want them to hate me (if that happens to be their nature), but I do not feel comfortable working like this. I do not think my boss will care, since they tease me in front of him and her (not as extreme tough). Plus I am quite young and not as experienced and of course they are going to prefer them than me. I would quit my job, but I need a reference letter for my college next semester. And I am not sure if in my future job they will be able to give it to me, since I will just have started there. Plus, I have this thought in my head, that I should quit the job, because I am going to to study in another state, not because I was not capable on to hold it.

On top of that when I asked them if the food was delivered, he tells me to shut up, that they are not machines and that he does not care.

In case you haven't noticed you are being sexually harassed. If the people at ur job are doing these things it is AGAINST THE LAW. My advice would be to get a lawyer, some hard evidence against them, and a law suit. You can take this to trial but you have to do it quickly or it won't go though, and if u stick around let these things happen to you, something worse is bound to go wrong. Get out and good luck

Report them (all) to your manager... and if that doesn't work, call the Board of Labor !!!! You, or anyone, does not need to put up with this at your job. That's harassment, no matter how you look at it !
