lottery winners live mainly outside urban centres which is proof that the lottery numbers that we see appearing on our TV screen are pre sellected and not at all random. In other words the machines are programmed to select the numbers. If the numbers were random , statistically the winners would nearly always be found where population concentration are most dense.and people purchase the most tickets. Is this is arranged by consent with the government to give all uk residents an equal chance.? However those people who buy lottery tickets should know that if they live in a large town they stand even less of a chance of winning than the official odds of 12million to one. Consequently the lottery organisers can also maximise their proffits by manipulating the numbers.

It is difficult to look at this question scientifically as relevant statistics are not available to the public although they should be. A useful comparison would be to take the premium bond numbers.. Nearly all the big prize winners come from large holdings of blocks of say fifty thousand pounds consisting of random numbers. Now if you should take these blocks of bond random numbers as population concentrations you could note the frequency of the winning top prizes occuring amongst them, which is very often.
Taking this as a comparison the chances of winning national lottery numbers occuing in rural areas such as South Wales are extremely remote as opposed to the "blocks" of millions of random numbers occuring in cities such as London. Although this occurs in the lottery with great frequency. This is what leads me to suspect that a certain technology is employed to ensure a fair distribution of top lottery prizes througout the UK

That's a wonderful theory.

The only slight problem is that your opinion has no proof, and makes no sense.

For your idea to make any sense you would need to offer some kind of evidence, such as a list of all winners since the lottery began. In addition, it would be nice to hear from someone on the inside who could back up your story.

Realistically, if what you said were true, someone at some point would have come forward and blown the whistle on this whole situation. It would only take one honest citizen, or one disgruntled former employee to blow the lid on the whole thing. To run a conspiracy of this magnitude would require dozens of people to be involved.

The lottery has been operating in the UK for over a decade. If this had been 'fixed' for this time, hundreds of people would need to have been involved. The odds are, that at least one person in that time period would come forward with evidence of your conspiracy.

The fact that no one has come forward, and only crack pots like you spout this kind of nonsense on the Internet, leads me to believe that the lottery in the UK is on the up and up.

It doesn't matter what the density of the population is where the lottery's concerned and in fact I'd be more suspicious if it was won 4 times in a row by Birmingham.
Leaving aside the fact that I'd like to check your research for the fact you've put forward, when the chances are almost one in 14 (not 12) million you'd expect every lottery outlet to sell a winning ticket by 14000000/(52x2) years time, or 134,616 years give or take a month or two.
Whereas it is true that many people live in a conurbation such as London, the West Midlands and West Yorkshire, if you take the total number of lottery outlets in them you'll find that they are outweighed by the number in provincial and rural locations. Furthermore every conurbation has a percentage of poor, who can't afford the lottery, and middle class some of whom won't play on intellectual or moral grounds, and high earners who don't need or want to as the money doesn't interest them, and you'll find that the lottery is overwhelmingly played by C and D class people; the provinces and ruralities have a higher percentage of those than urban areas.
In short it's just chance. It's difficult to see how they could fix it so a big town didn't win; you'd need a supercomputer to calculate the data. How would you select a non-random ball from a machine that is see through and broadcast nationwide before a live audience?
Given the track record this gowernment has in keeping secret things secret, I think your theory is on a non-starter here.

Not 100% sure wether i agree with your facts, but i am 100% sure that some parts of the lottery are fixed.

Lets face it, has anyone ever heard of aperson winning a major sum of money who relied on the lucky dips?
When a computer picks so called numbers at random, it can store the combinations in its memory, so the system already knows what numbers not to choose. So how do they fix the lottery balls?

Thats easy!!!
They make a great show of choosing a random set of balls, and a randon lottery machine, and then you see the balls released. All very dramatic. But what they do not show you is the six or seven balls that have already been loaded into the 'random selection' tube When the machine is turned on, they draw these pre-chosen numbers to make it look authentic. One question I have for the people who run the lottery, Once the balls have been drawn, why cant you show the remaing balls? I rest my case

Logically it would seem that the majority of winners would be from
where the population was heaviest. I cannot see how it would be otherwise as the number of tickets sold in rural areas would be many times less, however many lottery outlets there were in rural areas.
As for someone whistle blowing, money does tend to silence people more than physical threats. This is a possibility, as any dealings that this present government has, seems to be less than straightforward.

Read "1984" by George Orwell.
Helps to keep the population in line even though the majority of winners choose to remain anonymous......if they ever existed at all.

might be a fix in your area... but in usa it aint.
there is no need to fix or maniuplate... as they are making more than enough... fixing/mainpulating would be easy to find out and that would eliminate nearly all lotterys overnight.

my husband agrees with you he says that he thinks is a fix and they use magnets to attract the correct numbers and the rest are light weight so they just float around.
