Its hormones in the sebacious or oil glands. Acne is a very common problem among people. Its caused by having too much oil in your skin. And you mostly get pimples when you are a teenager, when your hormones are raging. Most people grow out of acne however. I'm not sure if other animals get acne, i've only heard of people getting it. But then again do animals really get every disease and health issue that humans do?

We humans get ugly pimples for it is God's way of punishing the sinners on Earth in the modern age, for asthetic beauty is the only thing people see in society today. And yes, we are the only ones who get ugly pimples.

Humans get pimples because of dirty faces. I know it sounds weird because most of us wash our face well everyday but we dont clean deep into the pores where pimples start. What happens is dirt and bacteria get clogged in the pore and mostly when something gets clogged it gets bigger. That is exactly what happens on our faces. Then we picka t pimples and wonder why we are walking around looking like tormented dalmations. LOL

During puberty, when our sex hormones begin to get very active,
one of the effects is to activate skin glands including scent, oil, &
sweat. Believe it or not, on a primitive level, this makes us more sexually attractive, and that's what Mother Nature really intends.
However, the increase in oiliness tends to clog the pores of those oil glands, which when exposed to air dries and darkens, hence the blackhead. The gland, not knowing any better, keeps making oil (sebum). This usually gets infected, and there's your
pimple. [So you're not getting ugly, you're getting sexy]. Now you can see why it's important to keep your skin clean and reduce the tendency to blackheads. Concerning other animals, I don't know, but I suspect it has something to do with our hairlessness

Humans get pimples because of oil that is on the skin which clogs pores. Oil is not caused by foods, it has been proven a myth.

It's the oil on our skin. It clogs our pores and causes the ugly eruptions.
