First you need to get insurance on the new car and to do that you need the information about the car. Then if the car is bought as is you can get a temp permit to drive it home if it is sold safteyed the dealer should get plates for you and with insurance you are on your way. Happy motoring.

the dealership will have access to an insurance company that will give you a plate and insurance (for money of course). The process is usually pretty easy. Then drive back to toronto.

but consider buying a car in toronto to save travel and time costs.

Tell the dealership you need a temporary plate for transportation purposes and get insurance on the car before you sign any papers. The dealer should accomodate your needs over the phone.

Insure it -- call around for quotes. Tag it -- many dealers will do that for you or just take the paperwork to the DMV. Drive it -- self explanatory.
